Originally I wanted to do the shoot in a playground, but I felt that the vibrabt colours of a playground might be too distracting for the minimal colour pallette that I have for this collection.
I started looking at the images of Tim Walker while ago and I always liked the style of Paolo Roversi, so I thought I should look into more simplistic and plain background. I did not want a studio shoot, so instead I started researching abandoned mental asylums, hospitals and prisons.
I managed to find a lot of abandoned place in Melbourne, but most of the poeple who went there and photographed them was very reluctant to give out the addresses, which is totally understandable. But I did find some places that I could have a look at.
Since the inspiration was Black Swan, I wat to depict the unstability and fragilty of human psyche, and these images seem to capture the maddening atmosphere that I want to capture.
Daniel Park graciously agreed to collaborate again, which I am very happy with.
